Happy Birthday Michael

We celebrated this guy all week with two birthday celebrations. Dinner at one of his favorite restaurants Chili's, then ending the night with a never ending game of spicy Uno! Oh my gosh, the game went on for hours. I didn't pick up the camera how I had planned to, the rest of the evening I was enjoying the moment with my family and trying to win. We are a very competitve family. But sadly, I didn't win one game. Mike did though, I'm glad he had a win on his birthday.

My parents joined us for dinner, so we had to have two tables since they have rules of how many per table now. So some of the kids got a booth to themselves. I don't think they minded one bit, I heard lots of giggling and chatting at that table.

Gabriel didn't order off of the little kid menu, he's a big guy now that's what he tells me. And had his first order of fajitas all to himself.

He doesn't like pictures but he knows I do so he tolerates it, and occasionally makes fun of me for taking so many. I'm just happy he cooperates even if he doesn't smile.

Then ending the week with another birthday dinner eating some of his favorite foods and a game of poker.  I guess it's safe to say we love card games. Desiree made him a tres leche cake for dessert. I truly hope this guy knows how loved he is.

It was really a simple but sweet birthday celebration. Lots of yummy food and fun playing games.

The past two years haven't been easy for him. He has been so brave and has endured a lot of pain with so many uncertainties. I know that the journey he is on isn't one that he or any of us imagined for him. I know it's hard and scary but I hope he knows he isn't alone through it. He has God and his family walking with him. I'm praying that this year will be a better year for him and God will heal him.

Michael is so sweet, kind, gentle, funny, loving, is an artist, a great listener and gives the best hugs! And loves music, LOVES to read and video games of course.

We love you Michael to infinity and beyond!

MEMORIAL DAY

Thank you to all those who have given their lives for our freedom, and thank you to those who continue to serve our country. Happy Memorial Day!

November 2016

Weekend Recap

This weekend we started off Friday with heading to the drive-in with our church to see the Jungle Book. Our church has a family event once a month, so we can get to know other families. We don't always get to participate but this time we were able to. The kids had lots fun. My sister and my parents even joined us.

Sofia was awake the whole time and was so fussy that I didn't even get to watch the movie. The whole time I rocked her, nursed her, and even gave her teething medicine. She was very irritable and I was so tired and I know she was too. She just couldn't get comfortable. It was a hard evening for sure. Thankfully that night she slept really good. We needed a good nights rest after that evening.

On our way to the drive-in, Jorge and I realized that today was our 16th wedding anniversary. Isn't that crazy?, that with us being so busy with work and the kids schedules, that we both forgot. I remembered as I was updating the soccer schedule in my planner. Oh my gosh, I think we both need to slow down and definitely plan a date night soon.

Saturday morning came very quick. Bright and early we headed to the soccer field for 3 games.
For the past 8 weeks this has been our Saturday routine.
Many  of these Saturday's we've had to be at the field by 7:30, kinda rough but we've been accomplishing it.

These boys have been doing so well, they are getting better as the season is coming to an end.
They are having lots of fun and love to practice with eachother at home.

Daniel insisted on helping me with the stroller. I told him that I'd help since he can't see over it.
He said, that's ok mama I can do it. I love my little helper.

Later, the girls and I went clothes shopping. Sofi has been having a hard time napping lately, thankfully I had my wrap. She took a good nap. I love wearing my baby, but not too happy about my sunburn on my nose from the soccer game this morning.

I have an event in May that I'm so nervous about that I went shopping for.
I tried on this maxi dress. With some cute jewelry and strappy sandals, it might work, right?
Do you see my little helper??

My girls!! I love saying that.

And we made it to church!

I ended the weekend working on a little project for Sofi. I'll show you all later, if it turns out okay.
How was your weekend? Busy or relaxing?

Merry Christmas!

We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Luke 2:11-14

11 The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! 12 And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”

13 Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying,
14“Glory to God in highest heaven,

and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”

Ten Things to Smile About This Month: August 2015

I stumbled upon this awesome blog which has inspired me to write and document our life. I have always tried and have failed at it, but she has these fun link ups and I thought this was such a neat idea about posting 10 things that made you smile. Because being a mom can be hard and sometimes it is good to have reminders of the sweet joyful moments. So for the month of August here are some things that made me smile.

1. We were able to visit the beach as a family one more time before vacation ended.
2. We took Sofia to meet her great grandpa Jesse.
3. School started!! Here's Gabriel and Jimmy's first day. Gabriel is in 2nd grade and Jimmy is in 7th... I can not believe how time sneaks up on you.
4. Des and Danny helped me make banana bread.
5. Baby girl turned 2 months. My gosh I'm trying to savor my moments that I have with her at this stage. It is my favorite.
6. We finally made it to our first Dodgers game of the season.
7. Jorge and his Dad built me a workbench for me to work on my jewelry. I love it!!!
8. Daniel started Tae Kwon Do.
9. I loved this shot of Gabriel with Daniel holding hands at his cub scout outing.
10. We made our first sale with our t-shirt business!!

Friday Highlights

This week we started back to school and Tae kwon Do after a long summer break. We made homemade pizza which was so yummy.

Michael started high school! Oh my gosh he is growing up so fast.

Daniel helped me bake banana muffins!

And
little miss is struggling with gaining weight but we are managing. They took more blood to check her out and see if their is anything else going on with her.

She is still being a happy little one, so sweet and sleepy still.

I love all her little expressions, I just want to freeze time. So precious my baby girl you are.

Update: Sofia's blood work came back normal and she is gaining weight. We found out she has a lip tie and we will be correcting that soon so she can nurse better.
