San Diego Trip

This summer we went to San Diego for a few days. Here is a peek at our little vacation....

Our view from our room....

Then the next day we headed to Sea World.

We t3ouched some starfish....

Daniel liked splashing in the water...

We saw some sharks...

      We touched some bat rays....

They felt kind of rubbery.

The hubby and kids had a fun time spraying the people on the rides.....so much fun they didn't want to leave. I think we stayed there a good thirty minutes before I tore them away from the spray guns.

Played in the sand with the cousins....

Playing at the beach.....

Fun in the pool....

The hotel had these huge trees outside our room and of course the kids wanted to climb them.

On our last morning in San Diego the kids went down to the beach and decided it would be ok to let Daniel get in the water, even though he was in his pants. While Dad and I packed up the car with the suitcases.

But they did take some nice pictures, so I wasn't too upset.

Look at these smiles, how can I be upset.

Oh how we will miss you San Diego.......until next summer!

My Breastfeeding Story

This topic is a very delicate one and very dear to my heart. There are many women who breastfeed their children and many who formula feed. Every mama knows what is best for her and her child. I have breastfed 4 out of 5 of my children. All were a different experience. However, I wanted to share a part of Daniel's and my breastfeeding story with you.

Right now Daniel is 23 months old and we are still breastfeeding. I am so blessed that I have been able to do it for this long. Nursing a baby and a nursing a toddler is so different. When you nurse a baby they sit and your arms quietly and usually drift to sleep. With a toddler it can be that way at times and then it can be a little less quiet. As he nurses he has his little car in his hands driving it on my arm. Or how he tries to talk while nursing. Which is gibberish because he isn't saying many words yet. Or nursing gymnastics (wiggling around). When I nurse in public I'm always covered up but I still feel like people are looking at me. I imagine that they are saying, "oh my, she is nursing a toddler", "he can eat food so why is she nursing him ?", "he's too big to be still nursing!"Things like this go through my head. Plus it doesn't help when he is shouting for it in public. It can be a little embarrassing. Many people tell these things to me and it kind of makes me sad because I feel like I'm doing something wrong for breastfeeding him this long. But I just try to keep reminding myself that I do it because I believe it is the best thing for him.

Breastfeeding has some pros and cons. First of all, I never had to carry bottles or formula in my diaper bag, just extra clothes and diapers, and we were ready to go. We saved lots of money on not buying formula, so that is a plus. I never had to get the bottles ready or clean them. Night time was awesome because we co-sleep so I didn't need to go and prepare any bottles. However, it can be challenging at times, it is time consuming and you do have to stop what you are doing to feed your baby. But you know what, I kind of like that, it's mine and Daniel's special time. Time where we can bond. Time where I am forced to slow down and just be still. The closeness and the quiet time where he drifts to sleeps in my arms is beautiful. Also, there are times when he wants to nurse but sometimes we are not able to, this can be difficult. I am the only one that can give him this special milk and I am so happy that I am able to do this. These moments I will always cherish.

So when will we stop nursing? I'm not sure. I read lots of parents say that their child self weaned,  I don't think Daniel is ready to give it up just yet. However, I feel that our nursing time is coming to an end soon and I am going to enjoy these last nursing moments that we have left.

Please if you don't have anything nice to say please don't comment. Thank you.

Catching up

Hello, Hi! it's been awhile. I'm still here, just trying to keep up with the kids and just life. So I wanted to catch up here and share some photos....(ok a lot of photos) of what we've been up to.

April, May & June are all busy months around here. The past few months we've celebrated birthdays anniversaries, Mother's Day & Father's Day. But May was the hardest month as we said good-bye to my Grandma, she had been sick for a very long time and we knew that she would soon be going home to be with the Lord.... but it was still hard saying good-bye.
The beginning of June was busy the kids had testing at school, field trips, award ceremonies, and preparing for the last weeks of school. Which means school parties and teacher gifts. Also my little shop was blessed with orders for Father's & Mother's Day. Whew.....it's kind of exhausting just thinking about all that.

Ok, so on to the photo's.

We had a mini vacation for Mother's Day weekend at this beautiful resort in Las Vegas.

We relaxed and hung out at the pool which had some pretty cool slides and enjoyed the quietness.

Mother's Day evening my hubby took us to see Disney on Ice.
Which we've never seen, so this was pretty neat to see.

We went with Jimmy on his field trip to Olvera St. The kids went on a scavenger hunt and asked the vendors for the prices of items in Spanish. Once they completed their assignment, we were able to explore on our own.
It was a pretty cool field trip.

And since Desi was out of school already, she was able to join us.
Which was such a blessing so she could help with the littles.

We went to our first Dodger game of the year.

It was giveaway day at the stadium.
So the boys were happy with their new arm sleeves.

A great day with the family.

And of course we had to throw a few Disney adventures in between all the craziness.

I love how California looks when it's lit up at night.

I made these cute keychains for the boy's teachers for the end of the school year gifts.
I really loved how they turned out.

In June my Jimmy turned 10!
I can't believe how fast time flies by.

We had his party two days after school let out.
My sister-in-law who lives in Nevada came to visit with us for a week
so we had the cousins
here for the party.

Had fun playing games.

Watermelon eating contest.

Water ballon toss.

Disneyland fun with the cousins!!

Celebrated Jimmy's birthday at Disneyland.

Daniel is getting braver and now walks over to the characters.
He use to run from them.

Then we ended June with a family vacation with my side of the family.
I'll share more about that vacation later.
So that is it a little peek of our June.

How's your summer?
